gsd4e-gps-sirfCSR today introduced the SiRFstarIV GSD4e GPS location processor. the GSD4e adds a built-in CPU and a new feature called SiRFGeoRecov which ensures continuous location awareness in digital cameras, game consoles, and other consumer devices, without loading the host processor. It lets devices instantly tag an image or video with geographic information and improve on the accuracy of more GPS data becomes available.

GSD4e is quite sensitive and it work between signals as weak as -160 dBm to -163 dB.

CSR’s new SiRFstarIV GSD4e single-chip GPS engine will go in full production first quarter of 2010.
