Navman iCN 530 sleek portable navigation device with second-generation SiRFstarIII chipset
Another official release announced today from Navman about iCN line. The iCN 530 is the most recent rendition of the iCN 520 and iCN 510, its award-winning predecessors. The device offers a sleek new exterior, pocketsize form factor for ultimate portability, the latest GPS technology for rapid satellite acquisition, internal memory for map data storage, and an enhanced user and touchscreen interface.
The Navman iCN 530 features a high-resolution (320×240), 3.5-inch QVGA, touchscreen display; employs a reliable, integrated, high-performance GPS antenna; and houses a long-lasting internal Lithium-Ion battery for operating the unit without external power. The complete iCN 530 solution includes 2GB of on-board FLASH memory; a CD-ROM containing the latest detailed map data; a vehicle power adapter and mounting bracket; a stylus for quick and efficient data entry; a USB sync cable and power pack for PC connectivity; a protective carrying case for convenient storage and travel, and a wireless remote control.
Powered by Navman’s new feature-rich navigation software, exciting capabilities of the iCN 530 include:
- Enhanced Signal Reception: Incorporating the new second-generation SiRFstarIII chipset, the iCN 530 greatly improves in-vehicle navigation in environments with weak signals such as urban canyons, areas of dense foliage, under covered bridges and in vehicles with athmeric windshields
- Extended Battery Operation: ultra-low power components and intelligent power conservation algorithms maximize battery life for non-tethered use;
- One-Touch Fuel and Parking: two dedicated Points-of-Interest (POI) buttons provide instant access to the location of nearby gas stations or parking lots — saving time and eliminating hassle;
- Multiple Navigation Views: 3D map view, 2D map view, quick next-maneuver icon view with 2D mini-map, and a text-based instruction list that displays the next four maneuvers;
- Preloaded Detailed Tele Atlas Map Data: providing total Drive Away(TM) convenience for the USA, Puerto Rico and Guam (U.S. version) and Canada (Canadian version), as well as more than 5 million POIs including food, gas, parking, hotels, airports, hospitals, shopping, and many more;
- Newly Designed Mounting Bracket: facilitating simple windshield application and single hand connection and removal of the iCN 530; * Wireless Remote Control: allowing maximum operational convenience;
- Improved Routing Options: offering users an unprecedented level of routing control, and a sliding preference scale for options like quickest/shortest routes, preference for freeways and urban roads;
- My Points-of-Interest (MyPOI(TM)): enabling users to customize their iCN 530 by defining individual POIs, or downloading and importing third-party POI databases; and
- Active My POI: user-definable alarms, notifying the approach of user-selected points of interest.
Standard capabilities of the iCN 530 include enhanced routing algorithms ensuring users travel the most intuitive course; improved speed and accuracy for town, zip code, street, intersection and house number searches; and an extensive Points-of-Interest (POI) database. User-selectable data such as ETA, speed, current time, time-to-go and total distance can be accessed with the touch of a button. In the event of traffic jams, accidents or missed turns, Navman’s powerful "Back-on-Track(TM)" feature quickly redirects users to their destination using the nearest viable route.
