Garmin just added Garmin Zumo 665 to their motorcycle lineup. Garmin zumo 665 is already available on Amazon for a whopping $1000. Too much? Nah.. You already own expensive toys like bikes so this shouldn’t be such a big deal for you.

Anyways, what’s new with the new Garmin Zumo 665? Well, you can see a comparison for yourself here with the older Zumo 660 but we’ll tell you right away that ‘not much’. Interestingly the battery life on the new Zumo 665 is only 3 hours which is 2 hours less than that of Zumo 660, but Zumo 665 adds XM Navtraffic & Radio for U.S. support with the included receiver. On the other hands it no longer supports MSN Direct – but that may have something to do with the MSN service going out.

Obviously the person who wrote this review is a non-rider!
The fact the battery life is only 3 hrs… since when is that a big deal on a motorcycle?? Most of us that ride bikes the gps is mounted and since the zumo comes with the wiring harness for direct power who cares about battery life?! 3 hrs is more then enough time when in a hotel room to plan your next days adventure (plus many of us carry a mini-laptop and the zumo comes with a map creator so your not using the zumo anyway except to export the map to the zumo).
If you take the zumo from the bike to the car – there is an external cable to plug into the zumo and into your cigarette lighter, so again, who cares about battery life?
As far as them doing away with MS Direct — GOOD! It was only BETA anyway and most of us knew it wasn’t going to last so why buy a device with it?
Although this review I just did sounds like it, I am *not* a Garmin fan… (although I do own the Zumo 550) BUT, I will give kudo’s to Garmin for listening to their customer base when everyone complained that the 650 removed XM information (which was replaced with MS Direct).
Kudo’s Garmin for being one of the few companies that actually DO listen to their customer base!!
