Fujitsu Siemens Pocket Loox T series smartphone now SiRFstarIII GPS powered
SiRF Technology announced that Fujitsu Siemens Computers has incorporated a single-chip version of SiRF’s flagship SiRFstarIII GPS receiver into the new Pocket LOOX T810 and Pocket LOOX T830 smartphones. This all-integrated handheld features Windows Mobile, Direct Push e-mail and GSM/UMTS mobile phone technology along with SiRF GPS-enabled location technology to keep mobile work force in touch with their business.
The highly integrated SiRF GSC3f enables Fujitsu Siemens Computers to incorporate real-time, high-performance location awareness and navigation capabilities into a feature-rich handheld device while maintaining its compact size. The GSC3f delivers exceptional sensitivity and extremely fast time to first fix (TTFF) in a compact, 7-mm x 10-mm package that combines a complete A-GPS digital baseband processor, RF front end and 4 megabits of flash memory.
"With the Pocket LOOX T Series, Fujitsu Siemens Computers is delivering leading-edge mobile solutions that our customers want," explained Andreas Thimmel, vice president business clients at Fujitsu Siemens Computers. "We believe integrated GPS is essential in a state-of-the-art handheld. SiRF’s market-leading GPS-enabled location technology makes this possible."
The GSC3f product line is supported by SiRFLoc multimode technology and the SiRFInstantFix service. SiRF’s patented SiRFLoc location solution allows networks to move beyond basic "find and locate" applications to support a wide range of location-based services (LBS) such as navigation and real-time routing with minimal network bandwidth requirements. The SiRFInstantFix service eliminates the long wait consumers complain about when first turning on their navigation systems, significantly reducing the start-up wait time for SiRFstarIII-based GPS systems.
