Magellan Maestro 3100Magellan has announced the worldwide introduction of the Maestro 3100 and Maestro 3140 portable vehicle navigation devices. These extend the Maestro family’s’ thin, elegant design and new intuitive user interface to a new form factor that offers a 3.5 inch QVGA display. The Maestro 3140 delivers advanced navigation capabilities, including Bluetooth and text-to-speech, while the Maestro 3100 delivers the best navigation experience in a price category that affords more drivers the opportunity to travel with the convenience and confidence Magellan navigation systems provide.

These newest members of the Maestro family expand the Magellan auto navigation line, building on recent introductions of the Maestro 4000 series, Magellan RoadMate 2000 series, and CrossoverGPS, and giving customers an assortment of quality products.

“Without compromising the quality and richness of experience that Magellan stands for, we have been able to pack into an even smaller form factor premium features found in the Maestro 4000 series,” said Christian Bubenheim, vice president of product marketing for Magellan. “These include text-to-speech, full map coverage, and more. In addition, they are the first auto navigation solutions on the market that use the new Samsung 2443 (400MHz) processor for rapid routing.”

Magellan Maestro 3400With a sleek, stylish design, the Maestro 3100 and 3140 incorporate award-winning Magellan technology that guides drivers to their destination with turn-by-turn voice and visual prompts. The best-in-class user interface is incredibly intuitive and easy to use with newly designed map and menu graphics that are visible in all lighting conditions on the 3.5’ QVGA, full colour, anti-glare, touch screen display.

“The market’s ability to offer quality navigation products in a lower price band is critical to driving GPS adoption to the next level,” said Kevin Burden, mobile device market analyst for mobile consumer research firm Telephia. “Magellan is the first to enter this price category with a branded device that includes the features and design that consumers have previously only seen in much higher price categories.”Magellan Maestro 3100-
