Magellan RoadMate 860T with real-time traffic capabilities
Thales officially released the new Magellan RoadMate 860T portable vehicle navigation system, available in May at US $799.
The Magellan RoadMate 860T provides real-time traffic capabilities so drivers can easily gain detour routes to get to their destination faster and a text-to-speech function (SayWhere) that speaks the street name for upcoming maneuvers.
The new Magellan RoadMate 860T also is equipped with 10 GB of memory for storing multimedia files so they can enjoy music and view photos. Navigating is easy with the large, 3.5-inch, high-resolution daylight visible TFT color touch screen and the option of a 2D or 3-D "bird’s eye" map view.
Magellan RoadMate 3000T, 3050T and 6000T new devices with multimedia features
Thales’ navigation business announced today three new portable vehicle navigation devices, the Magellan RoadMate 3000T, 3050T and 6000T. The products introduce a new intelligent design that’s compact, stylish, and even easier to use than previous solutions. They also deliver a better navigation experience by combining the award-winning Magellan user interface with the advanced speed and accuracy of Magellan NavEngine(TM) routing technology, an Intel XScale(R) processor and real-time traffic information. The Magellan RoadMate 3000T, 3050T and 6000T cater to drivers’ needs for out-of-the-box routing, traffic avoidance, multi-media functions and features that simplify driving while eliminating the frustration, waste of time and fear of getting lost.
Navman iCN 750, the world’s first image-based navigation device
Navman has also officially announced today the latest addition to its line of innovative in-vehicle navigation devices, the iCN 750. A true breakthrough in technology, the Navman iCN 750 features NavPix(TM), a unique and intuitive way to navigate to destinations using pictures. Designed to change the way people navigate forever, simply select the picture of a desired destination and NavPix will quickly determine the best route to travel without requiring the entry of any address detail. The new iCN 750 features the market’s first, high-resolution 4" WQVGA (480×272) widescreen display, the latest second-generation SiRFstarIII chipset for rapid satellite acquisition, an enhanced user and touchscreen interface, and a built-in digital camera for adding to the system’s NavPix image library. Like all Navman devices, the iCN 750 is easy to operate and ready to use right out of the box.
Magellan RoadMate 3000T GPS System with MP3 and new design
Magellan will release in late april the new Roadmate 3000T as reported on many well know gps shopping sites. This innovative new RoadMate takes the high-powered features of the RoadMate 800 and crams it into a sleek-looking, compact unit. It’s easy to use and fits in your shirt pocket when you leave the car. The new Magellan RoadMate 3000T has a 3.5 color touch screen and a 4GB internal hard drive with NAVTEQ maps pre-loaded (with 3D birds eye view) and the ability to have an add-on traffic module for real time traffic updates.
This device is SD-card compatible so that you can easily load MP3s, digital photo files and custom points-of-interest.
